MISSOULA – University of Montana student Charlotte Leung recently was selected for the Hong Kong International Saxophone Symposium.

The symposium, which will be held in late July, is highly selective and receives auditions from applicants around the world. Leung, a freshman international student from Hong Kong, was selected for the symposium through a recocharlotte.jpgrded audition.

During the symposium, Leung will study and perform with some of the finest concert saxophonists in the world, including Nobuya Sugawa, Kenneth Tse and Masato Kumoi.

“Charlotte is a talented student, but more importantly a hard-working student,” said Johan Eriksson, UM professor of saxophone and jazz studies. “She is improving at an incredible rate. She has a great sense of humor and quickly has become a valued peer among the saxophonists at UM.”
