UM Professor Presents ‘Seeking History’s Touch: A Journalist in the Archives’

October 16, 2014

MISSOULA – This year marks the centennial of the University of Montana’s School of Journalism, and October is Archives Month at the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Library.

To help celebrate both, UM Professor Dennis Swibold will give a talk about how archives helped the School of Journalism explore its past and celebrate this important anniversary. The lecture, titled “Seeking History’s Touch: A Journalist in the Archives,” will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, in the Theta Rho Room, which is located on Level Four of the Mansfield Library. The event is free and open to the public.

Swibold will cover the history of UM’s journalism program, provide an overview of the research conducted to document the school’s history, speak to the value of preserving our past and touch on his own time spent in archives.
