MISSOULA – The Montana Law Review will host a panel discussion on animal cruelty laws and animal welfare from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, in University of Montana Law School Building Room 101.
The panel discussion will take place two days before the premiere of “A Dog Named Gucci,” a documentary film about a puppy who was set on fire, and his determined rescuer who fought for 16 years to change animal cruelty laws. “A Dog Named Gucci” will show at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, during the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival in Missoula.
Film director Gorman Bechard and UM animal law Professor Stacey Gordon will participate in the panel discussion. Bechard will speak about the film and Gordon discuss animal welfare bills before the 2015 Montana Legislature. The panel discussion is free and open to the public.
