March 17, 2015

MISSOULA – “Concert in the Dark,” a benefit for degenerative eye disease is slated for 7 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at the University of Montana Dennison Theatre.

The event, which has a $10 suggested donation, will feature the Missoula Youth Symphony conducted by Ryan Davis. A cello soloist, vocalists and a jazz ensemble, all comprised of some of the most talented young musicians in Missoula, also will perform.

Portions of the concert will be played in complete darkness. It will be followed by a blind auction, also known as a sealed-bid auction, of items donated from the community. The event’s proceeds will go to support the Foundation Finding Blindness and the Casey Eye Institute in Portland, Oregon.

Missoula’s Hellgate High School student Emily Graham organized the event for her senior project.
