UM to Hold Second Chibi Chibi Comic Con

MISSOULA – Fans of comics, video games and Japanese pop culture can come together at the second Chibi Chibi Comic Con, hosted by the University of Montana’s Student Involvement Network, Friday through Sunday, Oct. 28-30.

Events will take place from 4 to 11 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday on the third floor of the University Center.

Chibi Chibi Comic Con will include tabletop, card and video game tournaments, along with a vendor room, throughout the weekend. It also will feature workshops on a variety of topics, including history of animation, Q&A with a comic writer, cosplay creation and how to create a comic book page.

The convention will hold a cosplay competition for attendees to dress up and act as the characters they are depicting. Contestants will be judged on both their costume and portrayal of the character.

The event is open to the public and costs $7 for one day and $12 for a three-day pass or $5 for one day and $10 for a three-day pass with a Griz Card.
