MISSOULA – University of Montana Interim Provost Beverly Edmond recently published a book titled “Trailblazing African American Public Administrators” with co-author Ron Finnell. Both authors will receive the Trailblazer Award later this month from the Conference of Minority Public Administrators, a branch of the American Society for Public Administration.
Edmond and Finnell will accept their award in Atlanta during the organization’s annual conference held March 15-17. They also will speak during a luncheon plenary on Thursday, March 16.
“Ron and I are delighted to have been selected to receive the Trailblazer Award from the Conference of Minority Public Administrators,” Edmond said. “We feel privileged to have been able to recognize the group of individuals profiled in our book. These are individuals who worked extremely hard to improve diversity and inclusiveness in the field of public administration and the profession is better off as a result of their efforts.”
