MISSOULA – The Montana Repertory Theatre, the professional theatre-in-residence at the University of Montana, will present “On Golden Pond” by Ernest Thompson, directed by Greg Johnson.
“‘On Golden Pond’ is an American treasure,” Johnson said. “Many of us are familiar with the story through the Academy Award-winning film with Henry and Jane Fonda and Katharine Hepburn. Something deep and profound resonates through the events that unfold in this American masterpiece.”
The play, which first opened in 1979, follows the relationships between an aging couple and their adult daughter, her fiancée, and his teenage son. Actors in this performance will include Suzy Hunt, J.R. Robinson and Amber Mason.
This will be Johnson’s final play as artistic director of the Montana Repertory Theatre, as he is retiring this year after 29 years with the company.
