MISSOULA – A major health conference about chronic pain care, featuring national experts on the topic, will be held Thursday and Friday, April 5-6, at the University of Montana. Continuing education credits will be available for health professionals.
The Montana Pain Conference: Evolving Science and Modalities will be held both days in the University Center Ballroom. Participants can register online at https://www.mtpain.org.
The conference will be hosted by the Western Montana Area Health Education Center and the Family Medicine Residency of Western Montana.
Featured national pain experts will include Dr. Jack Westfall, a rural opioid expert; Sean Fargo, a mindfulness consultant; Melissa Geraghty, a patient communications specialist; Jeffery Fudin, a pharmacist opioid risk manager; and Dr. Gregory Carter, a medical cannabis specialist.
Experts will discuss topics such as opioid-use disorder in rural communities, meditation versus medicine, issues in communicating about chronic pain, using cannabis to treat chronic pain and more.
