UM DISABILITY SERVICES DIRECTOR TO ADDRESS NATIONAL PRESS CLUB
MISSOULA —Jim Marks, director of The University of Montana’s Disability Services for Students, will speak at the National Press Club Newsmaker press conference at 8 a.m. MDT Wednesday, April 29, in Washington, D.C.
Marks is president-elect of the Association on Higher Education and Disability. He has been director of UM Disability Services for Students since 1988 and has served in numerous capacities on the AHEAD board of directors since 2003.
At the conference, Jim Fruchterman, CEO of Benetech, will announce new partnerships with universities and publishers that will substantially increase the availability of accessible postsecondary textbooks for individuals with print disabilities.
Benetech operates Bookshare, a worldwide online library of accessible books that helps millions of individuals who are blind, have low vision or have a disability that prevents them from easily reading a traditional printed book. More information is available at
