EXPERT TO DISCUSS GEOTHERMAL ENERGY POTENTIAL IN WEST
MISSOULA –
Garry Carlson, an expert on geothermal energy, will present a lecture titled “The Western U.S. in ‘Hot Water’: Geothermal, the New Renewable Energy Source” Thursday, Nov. 12, at The University of Montana.
Carlson will discuss different geothermal sources, the potential for geothermal energy development in the Western U.S., case studies of such application and more from 1 to 3 p.m. in University Center Room 326. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Carlson owns and operates Gradient Geophysics Inc., a Montana-based geoscience company. He has worked on more than 600 explorations for active and fossil hot springs in North and South America in the past 25 years.
The lecture is sponsored by Workforce Innovations in Regional Economic Development and the UM College of Technology’s Energy Technology Program.
